Chemical Classification: Flavonoids<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: Fruit of Lime, family Rutaceae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Physical and Chemical Properties<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appearance: White crystalline powder or white needle-like crystals (recrystallised from dilute ethanol or dilute acetic acid)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melting point: 236~237\u00b0C<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solubility: soluble in hot water, soluble in hot ethanol, insoluble in ether.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chemical reaction: brown when encountering ferric chloride, red when reduced by magnesium and hydrochloric acid, does not precipitate in alkaline solution with carbon dioxide, hydrolysis with 2% hydrochloric acid or sulphuric acid produces cellulose, glucose, rhamnose, each of which is 1 molecule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.
